SHOW COMMENTS:

In all of my hundreds of shows I've seen this had to be one of the wildest. The show opened with Patrick Sweany (first time I ever saw him) who came out with his guitar and played a great one man set of originals. He reminded me a little of an early Alex Bevan and was very good.  Good enough for me to stop on the way out and pick up a couple of his CD's.

After a short break, the house lights went back down and out walked Leon in his traditional white coat, white hat and hawaiian shirt. Leon sat down at the piano at the front of the stage and started to play. The best way to describe the show, was like watching a concert on speed. After he started the show, he never stopped. As one song's ending notes faded he would start right into the next song. This went on for I would have to say 25-30 songs. He never talked to the audience until the very end when he stood up and with a wave of his hand said "the band, Thank you" and walked off.

Now don't get idea the show was anything but great! Leon sounded and played as good as I have ever seen him. He played all of his best songs and then some. If you get a chance to see this great performer, don't pass it up. His show is worth every cent and seems to be a regular now at the Beachland. - Bear
