Is There A Beatles 2.0 Coming?

In the realm of bad ideas this one might top the list. The sons of John, Paul, George and Ringo have discussed getting together and forming a band.

James McCartney has reached out to Sean Lennon, Dhani Harrison and Zak Starkey to create the next generation of The Beatles according to the BBC. In an interview Monday, the 34-year-old McCartney, said "embracing the legacy of the Fab Four has worked to his advantage so far, thus he wouldn’t be opposed to a reincarnation of the ensemble." But not all the sons may agree. “I don't think it's something that Zak wants to do,” James remarked. “Maybe Jason [another of Ringo Starr's sons] would want to do it. I'd be up for it. Sean seemed to be into it, Dhani seemed to be into it. I'd be happy to do it.”

However, even McCartney realizes that the musical bar has been set awfully high. “I then dreamt of being better than The Beatles,” he said. “I'm not sure if I can do that. If anything, I would love to be equal to The Beatles -- but even that's quite tough.”

Really? James do you think this is a good idea? Have you taken a look at Michael Jordan's sons who play basketball, how about Pete Rose Jr playing baseball. Forget those guys how about looking at the music career of Julian Lennon!

C'mon James, seriously!

Blue Oyster Cult/Uriah Heep 1976 Cleveland Concert Poster

In what was billed as a Heavy Metal New Years, Blue Oyster Cult headlined on December 31, 1976 at the Richfield Coliseum. Also on the bill was Uriah Heep and opening act Point Blank.

The Richfield Coliseum was an arena located in Richfield Township located roughly halfway between Cleveland and Akron Ohio. It hosted many concerts, with its first event being a concert by Frank Sinatra in 1974 and the last being a concert by Roger Daltry in 1994, which was also the last official event at the arena.

Each week we feature a new poster as the Poster Of The Week and it will be on sale for only $10.00
